Description:

Increasingly, psychologists are recognizing the impact of substances on psychological functioning. The stakes are especially high in forensic cases, where medications and recreational substances can affect both neuropsychological functioning and the legal disposition of examinees. This webinar helps attendees understand the integration of psychopharmacology knowledge into forensic neuropsychology by examining relevant cases.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to:

1.       Define forensic neuropsychology.
2.       Explain the scientific approach to forensic neuropsychological assessment.
3.       Describe the relevance of psychopharmacology to forensic neuropsychology cases.
4.       Apply the scientific approach to understand forensic neuropsychological cases involving substance use.

Presenter bio:

Kristine M. Jacquin earned a B.S. at Northwestern University, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Jacquin is a Professor of Psychology and administrator at Fielding Graduate University. She is also a licensed clinical psychologist with a consulting practice focusing on forensic and neuropsychological evaluations. Dr. Jacquin has testified in court about forensic neuropsychological matters, including issues related to psychopharmacology. She also conducts research and gives presentations related to forensic neuropsychology and psychopharmacology.

Continuing Education

The American College of Forensic Psychology is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. ACFP maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Cover the cost of attending the webinar and receiving CE credit. After registration is complete, you will receive an email with Zoom connection information. After the webinar is complete, you will be asked to complete an evaluation. Your CE certificate will be emailed to you.

Registration refund requests after this time frame and before the webinar begins will be made in full, minus a $15 service charge. No other refunds are permitted.
